Fees & Policies


Intake and Session Fees

75-minute Intake Session: $200

60-minute Psychotherapy Session: $150

45-minute Psychotherapy Session: $100

Private Pay & Insurance

Currently we accept United & Cigna Insurnace at this time. Otherwise, Moxie is an out-of-network (OON) provider. Payment is due beginning of each session. If you would like to use insurance you can submit for reimbursement (see section on this below).

You will need to provide payment information before our intake session, and you will be automatically billed on the morning of each session.

Benefits of Private Pay Therapy

Opting for private pay therapy offers several advantages:

  • Freedom of Choice: Select a therapist who best suits your needs without any restrictions.

  • Customized Treatment: You and your therapist can decide the course and length of your treatment.

  • Enhanced Privacy: Your treatment details remain confidential and are not shared with insurance companies.

  • Consistency in Care: Continue with the same therapist regardless of any changes to your insurance.

Out-of-Network (OON) Insurance Reimbursement

I can provide monthly superbills for you to submit to your insurance company for partial reimbursement, depending on your plan and deductible.

If you wish to use OON benefits, please contact your insurance provider to understand what they cover. It is your responsibility to know your insurance plan details and the reimbursement process.

Please note, I do not accept Medicare Part B, and claims cannot be submitted for reimbursement to Medicare.

Questions to Ask Your Insurance Company About OON Psychotherapy

We recommend using Reimbursify (see next section) to verify your OON benefits. However if you’d like to do it on your own, contact your insurance company using the phone number on the back of your insurance card. Here are some questions to ask:

  • Do I have out-of-network (OON) outpatient mental health benefits?

  • What percentage or dollar amount will be reimbursed for OON therapy?

  • Are licensed social workers covered under OON benefits?

  • Is online therapy (telehealth) covered by OON benefits?

  • Do I have an annual deductible? If so, how much is it, and how much has been met this year?

  • Will I need to pay out of pocket for OON therapy until my deductible is met? After meeting the deductible, what percentage or dollar amount will be reimbursed for OON therapy?

  • What documentation do I need to submit to receive OON psychotherapy reimbursements?

  • Do I need a referral from an in-network provider to see an OON provider?

Provide the following CPT codes to your insurance company if needed:

  • 90791 for the intake session

  • 90834 for 45-minute psychotherapy sessions

  • 90837 for 60-minute psychotherapy sessions

Initial Free Consultations

I offer a free 15-minute telephone consultation as the first step to starting therapy. This call helps us determine if I am a good fit for your needs. During this time, I'll learn about your treatment needs, you can learn about my approach, and I will answer any questions you have about my practice.

If we agree that I am a good fit for you, I will send you pre-intake paperwork to schedule your intake session.

Pre-Intake Paperwork

You must complete pre-intake paperwork before scheduling and confirming your intake appointment. After our consultation call, you will receive a link to the paperwork, including consent forms, payment information, and questionnaires about yourself. Once completed, we can get you scheduled for your intake appointment.

Cancellations and No-Shows

You may cancel your appointment without rescheduling a limited number of times with no fee up to 24 hours before your appointment. You can cancel through the online portal, send an email, or leave a voicemail.

To maintain consistency and progress:

  • Weekly clients: Limited to two cancellations without rescheduling within six months.

  • Biweekly and monthly clients: Limited to one cancellation without rescheduling within six months.

You will be charged the cancellation/no show fee if you cancel more often than this without rescheduling, regardless of the reason. Rescheduling must occur within the same week for weekly clients, the same two-week period for biweekly clients, and the same month for monthly clients.

You will also be charged the cancellation/no show fee if you cancel within 24 hours or do not show up for your appointment. Exceptions may be made for emergencies or serious illnesses/injuries. Work or travel-related conflicts are not exceptions. These policies ensure that your time slot is reserved exclusively for you.
